About

Damage Such (band) is a hybrid instrumental and coding collaboration between Lina Bautista (ES) and Timo Hoogland (NL). In the performance they combine drums, electric guitar and live coding. They use the programming language Mercury to create electronic music with the collaborative code-editor Flok. In their performance they focus on bringing their instruments, which they usually use in other contexts, to the context of live coding and algorithmic composition, and combine playing instruments together with coding. During the performance they code various extra electronic sounds with algorithmic composition techniques. They also use the code for looping techniques and sound processing on the guitar to create more intricate patterns. They find their influence in various artists such as Aiming for Enrike, Nerve, Rival Consoles and Moderat.
