strange attractors

About

A series of images generated with Strange Attractor particle systems with the use of the new GL3 Package in Max. The attractors are written in a glsl shader and with the use of gl.buffer and gl.tf applied to a gl.mesh. The speed and transparency of the particles can react to audio as well.

The Lorenz Attractor (and many others) is a dynamic system part of the chaos theory. Developed by Edward Lorenz in 1963, when working on a system simulating atmospheric convection. It consists of 3 differential equations that describe the systems change at a certain time. This makes the system time dependent.
