Abstract

Morph is a live audiovisual performance for knurl (a hybrid cello), acoustic drums and electronics. It is part of an ongoing research and collaboration between Rafaele Andrade (knurl) and Timo Hoogland (drums/electronics). In the performance Andrade and Hoogland create various sonic textures by connecting their instruments to eachother via custom programmed software running on the computer. During the progression of the piece they explore how their instruments can extend beyond their own sounds and slowly morph together by controlling eachothers sounds.
